Social Studies

Hi there!

The Social Studies section is grouped with the English section of the first exam. This component is all multiple choice. But remember you have 60 minutes for 60 Multiple choice questions!!!! In this part of the exam, there are questions about Canadian Government, Socialism vs. Capitalism vs. Mutualism, types of government, Charter of Rights and Freedom, law, and important events in history. For Canadian Government, they ask questions like about what type of government Canada is, Senate Seats per province, who supports proportional representation (liberal thinkers vs. Conservative thinkers), and senate reform. They ask a couple of questions about the differences between socialism, capitalism, and mutualism. I remember one of the questions was:
What type of government Canada is:

  1. Democracy
  2. Dictatorship
  3. Republic
  4. Communist State
They also asked what type of democracy we are. For the charter questions, they asked about the freedom of religion, speech, and opinion. They also gave some sources where people committed crimes and asked what type of court they would go to. They also had some comics showing slavery and a bunch of people trying to justify slave trade. They also gave a list of events and asked for the chronological order of them. Mine was:

What is the proper order of these:

  1. Canadian Confederation
  2. World War II
  3. The American Civil War
  4. The Cold War
Then they gave a list of a the possible order of these. That is about it for Social Studies.

See ya,
